In the recent present there has been a lot of activity in the press regarding Mormons, or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (of which I am a member). Just last night my wife and I watched a sparring match between Al Sharpton and Glenn Beck (also a Mormon) regarding some statements made by Sharpton toward Mitt Romney. But what I wanted to share was something that I found that helps classify Mormon beliefs. (Here is a link for it)

Good Quote...
I have a lot of "stuff" on my Mac. So from time to time I like to try to clean it up a bit by removing and archiving files. While doing so tonight, I came upon this quote:
"DOS computers, manufactured by millions of companies, are by far the most popular, with about 70 million machines in use worldwide. Macintosh fans, on the other hand, may note that ****roaches are far more numerous than humans, and that numbers alone do not denote a higher life form."
-The New York Times, November 26, 1991.
Just as true today.

Words from the past...
I have not been too political as of late, but the recent veto of the Iraq War funding bill gave me some concern. I found some quotes that illustrate how important certain people think setting goals, timetables, for accomplishing things.
"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is."
--George W. Bush, 4/9/99, criticizing President Clinton for not setting a timetable for exiting Kosovo.
"I think it's also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn."
--George W. Bush, 6/5/99

Thirty-three
33= 12,053 days=289,290 hours= 17,357,408 minutes. Today as I ponder my thirty-three years on this planet I think of all the things that have happened. In my lifetime communism fell, capitalism stormed the world (for better or worse), a southern Democrat President was replaced by a Western Republican, twice. I took a night class to learn Wordperfect 5.1 and now MS Word is a de facto standard (or applications that emulate it). The iPod has replaced the Walkman as the media player of choice (we didn't even call them media players). Many changes. I have accomplished many things. BA in Spanish, Master of Public Administration, own a home, and most of all married to a beautiful woman who loves me and we have three children who make it all worth it.
